On our Free Tour of Berlin you'll see the most iconic & infamous sights and get an unbeatable insight into the only city in the world to have seen the rise & fall of three empires, the devastation of two world wars and the construction of a 156 km wall splitting it in two and dividing its people for almost 30 years. Delve into this remarkable place with young professional local guides for an authentic in-depth look at the Berlin of the past and of today - a truly astounding, beautiful, ever-evolving & special city, living & breathing with a pulse you can feel all around you.
How do free tours work? It's simple, you're free to pay what you feel the tour was worth. Your lovely local guides don't receive any income other than tips from satisfied customers like you, meaning top quality tours on fair terms.
Booking is recommended to reserve your space, especially during high season & at weekends. This helps us to guarantee you'll receive a top quality tour!
Groups of 7+ must book online 24 hours in advance. Please note, fixed rates apply for groups joining the tour.
Please note, groups of 7-15 people who book to join the tour are not guaranteed their own guide. Should your group require their own guide, we recommend you use our contact form to arrange a private tour exclusively for your group.
Tours usually require a minimum number of participants to run. In the unlikely event of too few participants, however, we will always endeavor to run a tour or provide an alternative, at our discretion.

The closest S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations to Lustgarten are Hackescher Markt (lines S5 and S7) and Alexander Platz (lines S5, S7, U2, U5 and U8). Both of them are within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the meeting point.
If you are coming from Hackescher Markt, once you get off the S-Bahn take Burgstrasse, which becomes Spreepromenade situated along the riverbank. Once you see the bridge on your right, cross it and walk to the Berliner Dom. Congratulations, you have arrived to Lustgarten, the square in front of the Old Museum and the Cathedral! Walk to the middle of the square and look for our guides with light-blue Hostelculture T-shirts and umbrellas at the marble bowl.
Coming from Alexanderplatz take Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, pass St. Mary's Church on the left, towards Museum Island. Cross the bridge and continue to the Berliner Dom. Once at the Dom make a right onto the Lustgarten. Our guides with light blue Hostelculture T-shirts and umbrellas are waiting for you at the marble bowl in the centre.
